The Process Breakdown

⚠️ Note: NEET Registration is 1 time only before Round 1!

Step 1: Registration & Application

  1. Visit the official CENTAC website: www.centacpuducherry.in.
  2. Click on the NEET UG link and create your account by registering.
  3. You only need to submit a SINGLE APPLICATION for all courses (MBBS, BDS, BAMS, B.V.Sc.).
  4. Fill in all your personal, academic, and NEET details carefully.
  5. Upload scanned copies of your required documents (like NEET scorecard, category certificates, etc.).
  6. Pay the online application fee and submit your form.

Step 2: Course Preference & Verification

After registering, you must submit your choices for the courses and colleges you prefer. The admission authority will then verify your submitted application and uploaded documents.

Application Verification

The authorities will carefully check your documents, eligibility, and category claims. If there are any mistakes or missing documents, you may be given a brief window to correct them.

Step 3: Publishing of Merit List

Once all applications are verified, CENTAC publishes the merit lists in three stages so students can check their details before the final counselling starts:

  • Draft Merit List: An initial list for candidates to verify their details.
  • Revised Draft Merit List: Published after addressing valid corrections or objections from students.
  • Final Merit List: The final confirmed rank list used for counselling and seat allotment.

Step 4: Online Counselling Rounds

There are generally four rounds of online counselling to fill all the available seats. Your seat allotment depends on your NEET rank, category, and the college choices you submitted.

  • Round 1: First opportunity to secure a seat.
  • Round 2: Remaining vacant seats are allotted.
  • Round 3: Additional round for remaining vacancies.
  • Stray Vacancy Round: Final opportunity to fill any leftover seats.

Step 5: Allotment & Admission

Seat Allotted

If you are allotted a seat, log in to the portal and download your Provisional Allotment Order. Then, pay any required tuition fees online.

Report to College

Take your Allotment Order and all your original certificates to the allotted college before the deadline to complete your admission.

Important Guidelines

CENTAC Round-by-Round Rules

Round Fresh Choice Filling? Free Exit (If not joined)? Upgradation (To next round)?
Round 1 Yes (Mandatory) Yes (No penalty) Yes (To Round 2)
Round 2 Yes (Previous choices become invalid) No (Security Deposit is Forfeited) No
Round 3 Yes (Previous choices become invalid) No (Forfeiture + Potential Penalties) No
Stray Vacancy Subject to specific CENTAC notification No (Forfeiture + Severe Penalties) No

Note: CENTAC rules dictate that choice filling must be done freshly for every round you participate in. If you are allotted a seat in Round 2 or later and fail to join, you will lose your security deposit. Always verify exact penalty amounts and deadlines in the current year's CENTAC prospectus.
